Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer at Aversan, you will:

  • Develop and test embedded software for aerospace motor control applications.
  • Create and manage software requirements, ensuring compliance with DO-178C / ED-12C standards.
  • Design and implement software test environments and test plans.
  • Collaborate with offshore teams to oversee software verification progress.
  • Generate high-quality documentation, including block diagrams, state diagrams, and timing analysis.
  • Participate in customer discussions, providing technical expertise and addressing software-related concerns.
  • Debug and troubleshoot software issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Support the integration of new software deliveries and contribute to software user manuals.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in C programming for software reviews and troubleshooting.
  • 3+ years of experience developing software under DO-178C, DAL A or B guidelines.
  • 2+ years of experience using DOORS for requirements-based software design.
  • Strong understanding of electrical hardware design and debugging.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • U.S. citizenship required (security clearance is a plus).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with industry standards such as DO-254 / ED-80 and ARP4754.
  • Experience with Python, LabView, or other programming languages.
  • Knowledge of Texas Instruments' Code Composer Studio and SM320F28335.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols like ARINC 429, I²C, SPI, and JTAG.
  • Experience with permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) and brushless DC machines (BLDCs).
  • Strong skills in writing unit tests, integration tests, and debugging code.
